At Broadway our non-destructive plant is used to locate any potential flaws in the material surface and can include areas such as cracks, seams, laps and porosity, among other surface discontinuities.
Prior to testing, the components are thoroughly cleaned, then the penetrant is applied by either dipping, brushing or spraying. The penetrant is given time to soak into any potential defects in the material.
It is at this point the excess penetrant is removed by water wash and components are dried in a low temperature oven at 70 ºc before applying a developer to enhance the visual effects of any discontinuities found within the surface of the material. Acceptable components are then thoroughly cleaned and protected against corrosion
